Gastroesophgeal Reflux Disease
The diagnosis of reflux remains difficult, particularly in cases where the only symptoms are chronic sore throat, change in voice, intermittent difficulty swallowing, and metallic taste in the mouth.

A new test has recently been added to the repertoire that we have. This is called Peptest. Pepsin is an enzyme that’s only made in stomach. And this test, tests your saliva to see if it has any pepsin in it. If the Peptest is positive, it is irrefutable evidence that reflux is occurring. This helps in both the diagnosis and management of this difficult condition.

If you are suffering from chronic sore throat, change in voice, difficulty in swallowing altered sense of taste of metallic taste in your mouth, come and see us at Havas ENT Clinic and we should be able to diagnose and treat your problem.
