Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

The technique is done under a general anaesthetic and involves introducing telescopes and a range of instruments through the nostril. There are no cuts, no bruising, or black eyes.

The operation takes about 1½ hours. Nine out of ten cases wake up with no wadding or packing in the nose. Approximately one in ten cases need some sort of absorbable pack left in the nostril overnight to control bleeding.
