Additional Clinic Procedures...

A/Prof Havas performs a comprehensive range of “in office” minor surgical procedures.

Among these are:

Bilateral microinspection and ear toilet

Insertion of tympanostomy tubes (Grommets)

This is performed under local anaesthetic (adults)

Flexible transnasal oesophagoscopy

This is a new test which enables direct telescopic examination of the whole of the swallowing tube and the stomach without the need for an anaesthetic or the need to be admitted to hospital.

Injection snoroplasty

This is a relatively new procedure for simple snoring. A sclerosant is injected into the palate under local anaesthetic. It is not painful and has results comparable to more invasive procedures such as radio-frequency ablation or laser-assisted uvulopharyngopalatoplasty.

Electrolarynogography

Comprehensive electrophysiological testing of complex voice disorders are performed under local anaesthesia.
