A/Prof Havas is a Fellowship trained Paediatric Otolaryngologist. He is a former Senior Consultant at the Sydney Children's Hospital, having been on staff there from 1987 to December 2009. He started and ran the first integrated Paediatric Rhinology Clinic for 15 years.

He is an acknowledged expert in all aspects of paediatric otolaryngology with special expertise in the following:

• Airway obstruction
• Sleep & snoring difficulties
• Breathing problems
• Paediatric sinusitis
• Medical & surgical management of glue ear
• Management of hayfever & allergic rhinitis
• Voice and swallowing disorders in children
• Reflux in babies
• Tongue tie

Prof Havas operates on children of all ages from neo-nates through to adolescence. Paediatric cases are usually operated on at Prince of Wales Private Hospital and St George Private Hospital
